Here is post number 2! I've decided that I will post recipes on weekends and tips in the kitchen during the weekdays, so today is tip day!
If a recipe asks for oil, any type of oil can be used to substitute for it, including extra virgin olive oil, but if a recipe asks specifically for extra virgin, nothing can substitute for it. Extra virgin olive oil is made a specific way for its flavoring, and as a result, it's actually best NOT to use it when lubricating baking pans or cooking pots. The purpose of oil in that case would just be to prevent the food from sticking, and why waste that special olive oil you paid extra for? Save that extra virgin olive oil for salad dressing or extra flavoring once a dish is complete, and use canola/vegetable/coconut oil instead when lubricating the pans!

Honey-Lemon Water Drink~
Hello! Welcome to my first blog! I created this so that I could share some of my favorite recipes and cooking/baking tips with anyone interested in improving their own skills or just wanting to look at pictures of yummy food~
My first post will be a simple drink for either hot days or cold days. With slight sweetness and a refreshing taste, a glass of this honey-lemon drink is great when cold and feels good hot on sore throats when you're sick.
Ingredients:
1. 1-2 tbsp honey (more to taste)
2. 1/4 cup lemon juice (more to taste)
To start off, take 1-2 tbsp of honey (you can adjust the amount based off of how sweet you would like it) and dissolve it in about 1/2 cup of hot water by stirring. Squeeze about 2-3 lemons worth of juice (about 1/4 cup of juice, but you can adjust based off of how much lemon flavor you would like) and combine it with the honey-water mixture.
IF YOU WANT A HOT DRINK: Pour the honey-lemon mixture into a mug and add hot water to fill the rest of the mug. Enjoy!
IF YOU WANT A COLD DRINK: Pour the honey-lemon mixture into a tall pitcher, add about a cup of ice, and fill the rest with cold water. Give it a bit of a shake/stir, pour into a glass and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do~
